Kampungstay Desa Murni

About Us

Retreat to the serenity of our Kampung, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Kampungstay Desa Murni was established in 1995 and started with ten families to become the first Homestay in Malaysia. Registered with Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture of Malaysia this programme is an initiative under the Rural Tourism Master Plan which aims to increase engagement and participation of rural communities in the tourism sector. A decade later, the growth of this programme was evident with the increase of participants to as many as 40 families. In line with the progression, the homestay community hall was built in 2008 and Kampungstay Desa Murni is continuing to develop until today. This is a prime example of how the government and society as well the private sector can work together in the long run towards economic and social well-being for all layers of society.

All the rooms, houses and facilities were built with the idea of fusing together modern and kampung elements, treating visitors to an unconventional perspective of a holiday in a kampung – complete with facilities such as wi-fi, swimming pool, kids playground and ample parking space. We also offer beauty and health care services which are Spa, Sauna, and Cupping (Bekam)

INFORMATION REGARDING OUR TARGET BENEFICIARIES AND YOUR IMPACT ON IT.

Kampungstay Desa Murni has adopted commercial strategies to optimise economic, social, and environmental well-being improvements especially among the low-income (B40) group, many of whom are villagers and local communities in rural areas. Our organisation has implemented a few programmes and initiatives in order to succeed in our social enterprise. Basically, Kampungstay Desa Murni’s target beneficiaries are the local community around Temerloh which are entrepreneurs who provide products or services needed for our organisation. By collaborating with their companies, we can help them to improve their business development and at the same time promote their products. With that, we are indirectly boosting micro and small industries such as caterers, community products, farmers, entertainment organisers, boat owners, local tour guides, and transportation.

Besides that, Kampungstay Desa Murni has been promoting rural community life to tourists by organising the Homestay programme where tourists get to stay with a registered host family so they can interact and experience life of the rural community where tourists will become part of the family & learn their ways of life. We also promote agricultural products in the community such as coconut farming, rubber farm, palm oil farm, and fruits farm.
